Pillows are a necessity in nearly any bedroom. They allow us to have a good night’s rest – they raise our heads and necks to a comfortable position in relation to the rest of our body. There is a difference between the items we use on our bed and the items we use on other surfaces: the word ‘pillow’ specifically refers to the pieces we use on our bed in the UK. Extending the life of your jeans
In today’s tough economy more and more people are taking care of what they have instead of going out and buying new. Fashionable denim jeans can be expensive, especially since jeans are one of those wardrobe essentials that everyone needs. And even those who can afford the latest denim jeans choose to cut down due to environmental concerns.
Taking care of your jeans is a good way to preserve not only the environment but your bank account as well. In order to keep your designer denims from Michele in the best condition and reduce your carbon footprint, follow these simple tips:
1. Extend the life of your jeans by wearing them two or three days in a row. Only wash when it is compulsory as washing will cause the jeans to fade and fray quicker.
2. Wash your jeans in cold water if they are no visible dirt or stains. This reduces fading. Reserve hot water washing for really dirty or oily jeans.
3. Wash your jeans on the shortest and gentlest setting when they are dirty. Very lightly soiled jeans may even be washed on a delicate cycle, however, you may need to spin it more than once to get all the excess water out.
4. Zip zippers and button buttons before washing your jeans. This prevents the metal fasteners and rivets from rubbing against the fabric during washing, which essentially causes wear and fading.
5. Turn your jeans inside out before washing. This allows fading dyes to settle back into the fabric. Add some old jeans in with your new ones to absorb any excess dye and add new life to old, faded jeans.
6. Let your jeans air-dry until they are only slightly damp and finish them off in the dryer to soften them up. This protects the fabric from excess heat, and saves on energy as well.
7. Avoid buying pre-washed jeans. When a new jeans is pre-fade for fashion purposes to weakens the fabric, shortening its life span.
8. The knees of your jeans are usually the first area to start fading. A good idea would be to patch them before they wear through. Iron-on patches are simple to apply and readily available. Another idea would be to cut-up old, unwearable jeans for patches.
Quality, designer jeans are available everywhere, and in order to keep them looking as good as new, follow the above tips. Michele at Gray and Osbourn offers a variety of jeans and trousers for all shapes and sizes.

Things you should consider before selling your gold online
You will be surprised at how many valuable things you can find in your house. Things that you would never thought valuable could very well be. In fact, there could be several things in your house that are valuable. And they may not be found in the most obvious places. They may be hidden away in the closet, attic or garage. Or they could be staring at you everyday on the mantel piece without you realising it. This could be in the form of gold or even diamonds and other precious gems and metals.
Scrap gold, or used gold, is gold that has lost its luster, or that is no longer being used. This gold, while useless to you, may still have a decent resale value. But before you go around the house looking for valuable goodies, consider this:
1. Leave no stone unturned when attempting to look for valuables in your home. If you are interested in a gold or diamond exchange online, you need to find items that will be worth the hassle. Do not turn your house upside down, but just look in places where you will least expect to find these items.
2. Understand what the condition of your gold is. Scrap gold is considered gold that is broken or has lost its luster. In this case, it is best to sell your gold as scrap. However, if the item is still in a good condition, you could exchange the gold for a higher price.
3. Go through your old clothing for possible finds. Remember that old jacket in the closet that you completely forgot about? It could hold something valuable in its pockets. Never ignore old clothing, and examine those you may have forgotten about.
4. Purses, suitcases and briefcases can also be a great hiding place for scrap gold. Think of that old suitcase that you never got around to emptying, or that old purse you threw out without checking its contents.
5. Do you have an old jewellery box that you haven’t looked through in a while? Open it and look what jewellery you may have forgotten. Sometimes we throw old, broken gold rings, earrings or necklaces in jewellery boxes because we do not want to throw them out. Never assume your old jewellery box is empty and worthless. You may just find some hidden treasures in it.
6. When choosing a gold and diamond exchange company, make sure you pick one that is reputable. When you sell your used gold online you want to receive competitive prices. Also, you would want to actually receive your money. So stick to companies that are renowned and reliable.

How To Sell Used Jewellery Online
Are you tired of wearing that diamond necklace? Or perhaps you need extra cash and want to make use of your old jewellery? Maybe your tastes have changed, or you have inherited a box full of valuable trinkets that you will never wear? There are lots of reasons why you may want to sell jewellery online, and there are several ways to do this. The method you choose will depend on how much jewellery you have to sell, and how much you want to get for it.
Autumn trends that make us wish autumn were year-long
It’s nearly autumn and many of us are casting critical eyes at our wardrobes. We need advice on what to wear to work, to parties, and to long business lunches now that the recession’s nearly over. We want to appear businesslike with just a touch of fashion-forwardness. Or fashion-forward with just a touch of business.
Grey is the new neutral colour
It’s been a bona fide neutral colour since AD 700 but it’s only recently that we’ve seen an influx of grey. Grey pants, grey gloves, grey skirts, and grey jackets. We’re loving grey because the colour needs less dye than stronger colours such as black. This means that grey fabrics are softer to the touch than the same items in black.
Bag on it
You needn’t wear an IT bag to receive knowing looks of appreciation from your fellow tube commuters. Wear a bag that is as much an extension of your personality as it is fresh and vibrant yet classic. Find your perfect bag at your favourite consignment store or trawl online for inspiration. Bags with a slight vintage look, such as the Suzy Smith Quilted Cross Body Bag are perfect for autumn.
Kilts
Kilts can be cute on some, and ferocious on others. Yes, it is true that a kilt is a traditionally male item but some women are turning this notion on its head with their insistence on wearing something that would fit right into any ‘old boys’ club’.
Wear the kilt with a tight-fitting top and modern high heels.
The 1950s are back
Blame Mad Men for this. The women dress modestly and yet they exude personality and class. This might not be true for much longer – the series is approaching the mid-1960s – but it’s such fun while it lasts. Dress like a Mad Woman by incorporating cigar pants a la Grace Kelly into your wardrobe.
Wide-leg trousers
Wide-leg trousers conceal a world of figure flaws. They are also very much en vogue this season and let’s hope they remain a staple of the well-adjusted wardrobe. They are the perfect foil for the jeans we all love to hate – skinny jeans: they add a measure of class and dignity to nearly any outfit. Pair them with fitted knits in contrasting colours and textures. Or wear with floaty tops but add a belt to emphasise the waist area. Michèle Classics from Gray and Osbourn does a fabulous wide-legged trouser that places the emphasis on comfort.
Brace yourself
Another ‘slow-burning trend‘ is braces. Many women relish stealing things from the ‘boys’ and this autumn winner is yet another example of our infatuation with masculine clothing. It’s possible to find women’s wear that has braces but it’s so more thrilling to add your own braces to your trousers. Experiment with braces in bold colours.
