NEET is a national level entrance examination which is conducted for medical aspirants who wish to pursue undergraduate medical programs in the medical and dental colleges across India. From this year, NEET is going to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Candidates seeking admission to the medical and dental colleges approved by the Medical Council of India were able to apply for NEET 2019 from November 1, 2018. As the examination authority is new from this year, there are chances that NEET Cut off might be reduced in comparison to previous year’s cut off.
Merely qualifying NEET Cut off doesn’t guarantee you a seat of your choice in the medical colleges. Lakhs of students applied for NEET 2019. With a large number of students appearing for the entrance examination, reduced cut off and a limited number of seats in the medical colleges, there is no doubt in saying that the competition will definitely become tougher.
On looking at the trends of previous year’s NEET Cut off, it has been observed that if NEET cut off comes down, the competition will go up. As per the examination authority i.e. NTA, the examination pattern of NEET will be the same as that of previous year’s paper. But there might be chances that the difficulty level of the examination is likely to go up which in turn reduces the cut off and if the cut off is reduced, the competition among the students will definitely be higher.
In order to get a seat in the MCI approved medical or dental colleges, candidates are advised to go through the entire syllabus of NEET 2019 and plan their studies accordingly. Make a timetable based on the NEET syllabus and try to be consistent in your studies. Candidates must focus on each and every subject equally instead on focusing on just one subject. Candidates are also advised to practice previous year’s NEET question papers as it will definitely help them to know the exam pattern, the type of questions that might be asked in the entrance test, marking scheme and many more things.
NEET Cut off might be low this year, but this doesn’t mean that you need to work less. Work hard as there will be a really tough competition with the lowering of cut off marks. Don’t forget that your completion is not just with two or three students but with lakhs of candidates, so try to be more focused and focus on building your concepts. You will be able to crack this one of the toughest examinations only when you are clear in your concepts. So, just focus on your studies and work really hard. Don’t think about the cut off. Just focus on the seat in the medical college and you will definitely get the same.
